Haider Mullick

President

Hello Everybody!

I am an international student from Islamabad, Pakistan doing my Masters in Public Affairs with a concentration in development studies. I am very excited about the International Student Club. There are seven committees; all working very hard to bridge the gap between international and American students. There is something for almost everyone. For the academically tuned we have the Mentor-Mentee program, which is an enhancement to the Conversation Club, and for those who love to party we have several trips, and a grand upcoming Halloween Party!. I hope to work with all of you in making sure we have a great time and learn from each other.

I graduated from the Rober E. Cook Honors College in 2004, and then moved to Washington DC to work as a Research Associate for a Corporate Governance Firm called Institutional Shareholder Services. In the summer of 2004 i worked as a scholar intern at the Woodrow Wilson Center under Mr. Burki, former VP World Bank. I am passionate about socio-economic development, and securirty studies vis-a-vis South Asia and Nuclear Proliferation. I also love horseback riding, tennis, and sometimes writing poetry!

Without the help of the ISC Executive Board, Council of Assistants, Advisors, and most of all ISC members none of the projects would be realized. I thank you all for your support, and your belief in my abilities to lead this club.

Hello Everyone,

I am an international student from North Cyprus. I graduated from IUP in May 2006 with degrees in Political Science and Economics. Currently I am pursuing a master’s degree in Public Affairs/International Development Studies, in the hopes that it will eventually set me on the path to becoming a diplomat for North Cyprus. Some of my hobbies include tennis, playing the piano and dancing. I am also interested about discovering more about international students and their respective nations. I believe that as an increasingly diverse yet commingling world, it is everyone’s responsibility to harbor such an interest.

Executive Secretary

I am currently a senior here at IUP completing my undergraduate degree in International studies with a minor in Asian studies. I studied abroad my junior year at Kansai Gaidai in Osaka, Japan studying language and international affairs. I am planning on graduating in the winter of 2008, whereupon I hope to return to Japan and teach english for a few years. After that the sky is the limit...

I am working as the executive secretary for the International Student Club hoping to be able to help keep the club both organized and in touch with many of the already existing IUP student organizations. Time permitting, I plan on joining the mentor-mentee program to help teach english and to also improve my own knowledge of a foreign culture.
